MMRI Industrial Training Program – Polymer Engineering

This course combines several one-day modules to teach students skills needed to understand and work with polymers in industry. Topics covered include: structures, properties, and applications of engineering polymers; how material properties affect their processing and industrial applications; industrial processing techniques; important properties of polymers; applications of polymers; polymer extrusion and how the material behaves as it mixes and is compounded and how it forms; applications of polymer extrusion in terms of molding, pelletizing, laminating, and blowing; bio-polymers and their applications; and the pros and cons of bio-polymers.
