MMRI Industrial Training Program – Machining

This course combines several one-day modules to teach students the basic skills needed to become a machinist. Topics covered include: manufacturing processes; material types and their applications; processing methods; creating, reading, dimensioning engineering drawings; geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T); precision measuring tools; cleaning, calibrating, and safety using measuring tools; mathematics of machining and key skills; basics of setting up and operating the drill press, surface grinder, lathe, and mill; special workholding setups; creating complex features; using CAD and CAM softwares; CNC Programming; and CNC machining.
